Suicide is the second-leading cause of death in the United States among adolescents and young adults ages 15-25. 1 in 100,000 children ages 10 to 14 die by suicide each year; while 7 in 100,000 youths ages 15 to 19 end their life in this tragic manner. Facing these harsh realities and finding the best way to talk to your children about their mental-health can be a daunting task. For that reason, we have identified a couple of parenting resources that will help you face and overcome these challenges. The first one is a webinar titled "Suicide Prevention 101 for Parents: Recognizing Signs and What To Do." The second one is a Self-care Guide filled with valuable information regarding the ways busy parents can take time to take care of themselves. As they say it, it is important to put on the oxygen mask first on yourself before being able to care for others, including our own children. |
